Welcome > Interim Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Daniel M. Maxwell
Dear Students,
Welcome to the University of Houston (UH), a Carnegie-designated Tier One public research university. As a student-centered university, UH has dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to fostering an engaging learning and living environment. We want all students to graduate from UH well-prepared, “intellectually and personally” to live fulfilling and impactful lives.
Whether you are an incoming freshman, transfer, or returning student, we are extremely excited you have joined the UH community. I want each of you to know that the Division of Student Affairs is dedicated to your success, and we support the academic mission of the institution by enriching the overall student experience. Please take the opportunity to explore our departments, programs, and services. Our staff provides quality leadership and involvement opportunities as well as support services for our diverse student community.
Creating a comprehensive collegiate learning experience for our students is a true collaborative partnership between all UH stakeholders and your guidance is a vital component. During the academic year, you may be asked to provide feedback to help us assess our programs and services to make certain we continuously improve the quality and quantity of programs offered. Please take the time to give us your input. The data we gather will help us make informed decisions regarding how we can best support and ensure your success. Please let us know when you have questions and how we can enhance your UH experience. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you throughout the school year.
With Cougar Pride,
Dr. Daniel M. Maxwell
