Description
This course is an interdisciplinary study of Black women’s historical and contemporary experiences, including their contributions and challenges, in the societies in which they live. The focus may be comparative or on women of a specific region, religious background, or national origin. It may cover such topics as sexual identity, class standing, religious practices, hair and beauty, mothering, political leadership and community organizing.
