Department Overview
The Department of Construction Management offers undergraduate degree programs in Construction Management (CM) and Supply Chain & Logistics Technology (SCLT). Graduate degree programs are offered in CM, SCLT, and TPM (Technology Project Management).
Construction Management
The construction management program provides graduates with knowledge and skills necessary to join the construction industry. Such knowledge and skills include construction methods, structural systems, contract administration, specifications, planning, estimating, scheduling, and evaluating project performance. The 4-year program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). The program objectives and outcomes are posted on our accreditation page for public information.
The ever-growing construction industry has created a huge demand for dynamic individuals who can integrate construction science, engineering and business. The high demand is manifested in the starting salary of many of our graduates ($60,000 - $70,000) and the potential of earning $120,000 - $150,000 in 10 years.
Our graduates are hired as:
- Project Managers
- Construction Managers
- Field Engineers
- Construction Estimators
- Construction Planners
- Construction Superintendents
Supply Chain and Logistics Technology
Supply Chain and Logistics Technology is a technically-based program using information technology to optimize the global flow of industrial goods and services from manufacturers to industrial user. Supply Chain and Logistics Technology focuses on the international supply chain from the source of raw material through the final consumption of the products. Because supply-chain functions are part of all business activities, skills acquired with this degree offer unlimited employment opportunities.
Career options for SCLT graduates include supply-chain management with domestic and international manufacturing operations, service companies, third-party logistics providers, transportation companies, distribution centers, and other government and private businesses. Graduates are employed as industrial and transportation sales representatives; logistical analysts and consultants; operations managers; purchasing representatives; inventory control specialists; marketing directors; customer service representatives; and warehouse and distribution center managers.
Students pursuing a degree plan in the CM Department must complete university requirements.
