Requirements

Philosophy majors must complete 27 semester hours in philosophy, at least 18 of which must be advanced (3000 level or above). A minimum of 15 semester hours must be done in residence, and at least 12 of those must be advanced. A 2.00 minimum GPA is required on all major courses attempted at the University of Houston. Majors must also meet the general requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Houston.

Note: Not all courses are offered every semester. The same course cannot satisfy two departmental requirements.
