Italian Minor

Students minoring in Italian must complete at least 15 semester hours in Italian, nine of which must be advanced. Students must complete the following:

1) Six Credit Hours:

ITAL 2311 - Intermediate Italian I Credit Hours: 3
ITAL 2312 - Intermediate Italian II Credit Hours: 3

2) Six Credit Hours:

Six semester hours of Italian (ITAL) coursework at the 3000 or 4000 level.

3) Three Credit Hours:

ITAL 4308 - Dante and His World Credit Hours: 3 OR
ITAL 3335 - Survey of Italian Literature Credit Hours: 3
ITAL 3307 - Italian Renaissance Credit Hours: 3
ITAL 3333 - Women of the Italian Renaissance Credit Hours: 3.0

Additional Requirements

Nine semester hours of the minor, including six advanced hours, must be completed in residence.
A 2.00 minimum grade point average must be earned on all minor courses attempted at the University of Houston.
