Students who choose to minor in physics must complete the general requirements for a minor as well as the following:

Requirements

Physics: 17 semester hours (9 advanced) which must include

PHYS 2325 - University Physics I (lecture) Credit Hours: 3
PHYS 2125 - University Physics Laboratory I (lab) Credit Hours: 1
PHYS 2326 - University Physics II (lecture) Credit Hours: 3
PHYS 2126 - University Physics Laboratory II Credit Hours: 1
PHYS 3315 - Modern Physics Credit Hours: 3

Note(s):

No Independent Study, Senior Research Project, or Honors Thesis courses may be used to meet the 9 advanced hours requirement.

Students should consult the Academic Regulations and Degree Requirements section of this catalog for general information on the requirements for minors. Students must earn a 2.00 minimum cumulative grade point average on all courses attempted in the minor discipline at the University of Houston. Courses which by catalog statement cannot be applied toward a degree in Natural Sciences and Mathematics, or which have other relevant catalog restrictions will not be included in the minor grade point average.
