The interdisciplinary Minor in Population Health provides an understanding and framework needed to explore the full range of societal factors which impact the health and well-being of populations and prepares leaders to improve the quality of life in communities and for social responsibility.

Requirements
- A minimum of 15 semester credit hours, consisting of 2 Required Courses and 3 Electives.
- Nine semester hours must be completed in residence, of which six must be at the advanced level (3000/4000).
- In order to declare this Minor in Population Health students must contact the Population Health Advisor. A cumulative 2.0 minimum grade point average is required in all courses in this minor attempted at this university.
Required Courses (6 Hours)
Students must earn a minimum grade of C in POPH 2300 in order to advance in the Population Health Minor. Elective Course Options (9 Hours)
In order to indicate interrelated courses, the courses on the list are divided into three Areas of Study: - Population Health Science,
- Population Health Equity, or
- Population Health Informatics and Analytics.
However, students are not required to take electives only from one Area of Study. That is, electives may be fulfilled from any combination of courses from any of these Areas. Population Health Science

- Some of the courses in the PH Minor require additional prerequisite course work, consent from the instructor, or membership in a particular Major–clicking on the course title will take you to a detailed description. In some cases, your Major may already require the pre-requisite course(s), so please check and plan with your advisor.
- You can share no more than six hours of coursework in both your Major and Minor in CLASS. Other UH Colleges may have their own requirements. Consult your advisor for additional information while paying close attention to prerequisites.
