Admission Criteria
Freshman (FTIC) applicants will be assured admission to the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership if they meet the University of Houston criteria for freshman admission and are admitted by the university.
Transfer applicants who have completed at least 15 hours of coursework with a 2.75 cumulative GPA or higher will be assured admission to the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership. Transfer applicants with at least a 2.25 cumulative GPA who are below a 2.75 may be admitted by individual review.
International students are required to submit scores from either the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS). Students are required to score a minimum of 550 on the written examination, 213 on the computerized version, or 79-80 on the internet based version of the TOEFL in order to be considered for admission. The minimum IELTS score required is an overall score of a 6.5. The testing agency should mail the official results directly to the University of Houston. No electronic IELTS are accepted.
International Students must also meet the same requirements as entering freshmen or transfer students - whichever category they fall into. Please refer to the University of Houston International Undergraduate Admissions Booklet.
Change of Major
University of Houston students who have completed at least 15 hours of college level work must have a minimum of 2.75 cumulative grade point average in order to change their major to Global Hospitality Leadership. Students must submit a General Petition Form to the Conrad N. Hilton College Office of Academic Services.
